About Emerald campus

The Emerald campus is three kilometres east of the town of Emerald on 1200 hectares and houses administrative, classroom, student and staff residential buildings.

Further east towards the town of Blackwater is the 9300-hectare cattle property Berrigurra, which offers students excellent work experience as they contribute to the daily operations of the breeding and finishing enterprise (that is, breeding and fattening cattle for market).

Narayen, a 9,150-hectare property located 70 kilometres south west of Mundubbera, is a breeding, backgrounding and finishing enterprise with 950 head of cattle (including 500 breeders) servicing the domestic grain fed market.

This property gives students invaluable experience in cattle production, cattle health and nutrition, meat quality assessment, horsemanship competencies (for mustering and drafting cattle) and business management practices.

The Emerald campus caters to several specialities including beef cattle, cotton, horses and horticulture.
